Calls on all People of Conscience to

Protest in Support of Freedom for Syria

Saturday April 30,2011 12-4pm

  •          393 protestors killed since March 15 (Amnesty), Al-Sharq Center (UK) documents 617 deaths until April 25
  •         17,000-25,000: missing and displaced in Syria (Syrian Human Rights Committee)
  •          1000 killed in Tadmor (Palmyra) Prison 1980 headed by current Minister of Interior (Syrian Human Rights Committee) other massacres occurred in Sednaya
  •         30-40,000 Killed in Hama 1982 massacre (Syrian Human Rights Committee)
  •          Syria ranked 127 out of 178 countries in corruption in 2010 (Transparency International)
  •          Syria today has over 5000 political prisoners, 10,000 with a travel ban and 2-3 million banned from entering Syria (forced exiles) (Human Rights Attorney Almaleh)

Syria is under the control of over 15 security agency directly controled by the president and his closes allies including his brother Maher

We mourn the loss of life and support the Syrian people in their call for freedom and a stop of the killing. We call on the international community for the complete and swift condemnation and application of United Nations Security Council statutes with regards to crimes against humanity 

 

The Syrian Emergency Task Force is a nonprofit organization based in the United States. The

Task Force was created to support the Syrian people’s democratic aspirations and to provide a

venue for them to convey those aspirations to the American people.
